General Cyno had returned from his latest battle and she needed to allocate her forces. Luckily her old friends had joined under her banner, and surprisingly her leadership. She had the archons of Liyue, Mondstadt, and Inazuma under her command as well as her old compatriots to stand against the Tzarina. Since she had Aether's bravery, compassion, charisma and ability to use all elements, Kusanali's wisdom, intelligence and knowledge, Babel's gravitas, scheming, leadership abilities, maturity and divine beauty, everyone agreed she should take charge. She had to thank her luck for giving her this body and opportunity. Even if she could go back, she wouldn't. Lumine had an older sister now.

Her new life had started when Aether got wind of an Eremite plot to assassinate Nahida. Apparently they were working with the fatui, though they didn't know it, and members of the six great sages who wanted power all for themselves. Babel told Aether to investigate the eternal Oasis to lure him away and rushed to Sumeru city. When Aether found the oasis empty he returned to find Babel and Azariq missing and a letter detailing their plan with a fatui contact. Aether had sent someone to notify Cyno and rushed after the duo. Luckily they seemed to be carrying some sort of device so Aether was able to arrive an hour after them. He rushed to Nahida's chamber to see Babel draining her with some sort of artifact. Paimon distracted Azariq and Aether rushed for Babel. Unfortunately he was seconds too late as the artifact finished draining Nahida. She turned to him in surprise and he felt the device drain him as well. Fortunately his momentum carried him into the device and as his sword struck it a strange keening sound rang through the air and he felt himself lurch. He lost consciousness.

When Aether awoke the whole world was frozen. He tried to get up only to lose his balance and fall over. Pink hair drifted into his vision and he looked down only for the majority of his view to be taken up by a massive chest. "What is going on?" Searing pain rolled through Aether's head as memories came rolling in. She was Babel Tanit. She had found a mystic device which could drain someone's powers, even a god, and replace them in the world. She could finally gain her revenge on Lesser lord Kusanali. The Fatui were planning on letting her kill Kusanali to steal her gnosis, but didn't know the device she had gotten would steal her power and make it Babel's own. She would become the dendro archon and intigrate with the gnosis. A new headache ran through her head as all of Nahida's knowledge, wisdom, and intelligence became one with her. Next she gained the old powers she'd had as Aether. Her youth was restored as her body evolved to become an archon. She felt her position in the world shift as she went from Babel Tanit the eremite, to Babel Tanit the dendro archon. New memories floated into her head as the world adjusted. She looked down on her old body and the best parts of Aether flooded into her to get rid of her evil tendencies. She looked over to Nahida and knew instinctively she would disappear. She couldn't let that happen and looked around for something to help. Her eyes stopped on the device. It still had some power. After several minutes of examination she new mostly how it would work. It had enough power for one minor adjustment. She could either go back to her old body and let Nahida disappear, leaving the old Babel with all the power, or she could put Nahida's consciousness somewhere else. She was running out of time so she decided to send it to the only place she had time to: Azariq. The device broke and time resumed. Azariq paused which gave paimon enough time to see Aether's body sprawled. She panicked and rushed to him. Babel tried to explain things, but Paimon was inconsolable. She realized she now had access to the Akasha and simply beamed the information over to her. Cyno showed up with his troops then and Babel simply repeated the process rather than risk a confrontation. She and Cyno decided they needed to take over the Akademiya for what they did. Babel helped Azariq adjust and he was more than excited to exact his revenge. After a short battle she was installed as the Sultana of Sumeru and unified the country, the Eremites serving their Sultana willingly. Next she began her work of cleansing the country of Fatui and forming alliances. She'd set about contacting her old friends to join her and had amassed quite the force. It had taken a while for the others to come under her rather than equal allies, but she had vehemently promised not to interfere with other lands beyond what they asked for and so they had all become a unified force.

Another aid in her growing power was the device was more powerful than she had anticipated. She had first become Lesser Lord Kusanali and queen of the Eremites to the world, King Deshret giving her leadership over his people when he died. Only those close with her remembering her as the traveler as well. Then she mysteriously became Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, the original goddess of Sumeru which had now been ruled by a Sultana since the start. Finally she herself became the traveler, having taken a break from Sumeru and hiding her identity to travel around Teyvat. Only those outside of the heavenly principles and Azariq knew who the two of them used to be. The two bonded over that and their friendship grew closer than ever. However after several months both of them accepted who the were in their hearts. She was Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, the dendro archon, Babel Tanith, and a beautiful woman. He was Azariq, her chief bodyguard and a very handsome man.
