Poorly Worded Wish
Roy was excessively average. Average looks, average grades, average at sports. The only real friend he had was his best friend since childhood, Max. "God damn it. I just want to be good at something. Anything." He kicked a rock on the side of the road on his way home from the bus out of anger. He'd studied his ass off for the test but all he could manage was a C. He kept kicking the rock down the road when a glimmer by the storm drain caught his eye. "What's this?" Roy picked up the object and cleaned the grime off of it. It was some sort of coin, but not any currency that Roy had ever seen. "This thing looks ancient. Let's go home and look this up."
It took Roy most of the afternoon to find hints on the damn coin and even longer to find out what it was. It was almost midnight when Roy finally found what he was looking for. "So it's apparently a wish granting coin. 'All you have to do is state your wish and flip the coin.' Huh, that'd be nice if it was real. 'It is one use only so be careful on your wish.' No no no. It can't be real. Magic isn't real." But the though burned inside of him. He'd wanted to be better and here was his chance. "If I had to wish anything it was to be great. But if I'm wishing I may as well shoot for the stars." He held the coin in his hand for a while before taking a deep breath and flipping it. "I wish that I was always the most attractive, intelligent, talented, popular person in school. I want to date the best looking people. I want to be perfect at everything I do. And once I have that I want a place I can truly shine and show off my talents. I want the world at my fingertips." Roy watched in amazement as the coin flipped and suddenly disappeared. He was tired after a day of searching so he decided to go to sleep and hope for the best.
When Roy woke up nothing changed. "Well, it was a long shot." When he got to school, however, that's when he noticed things changing throughout the day. He got a little taller. His muscles developed. He understood what the teachers were saying. People started talking with him. Roy was ecstatic.
Over the next several days Roy became the king of the school. It was the most fun he'd ever had at school. He was admiring his new handsome features and frame in the mirror when his mother called up to him. Apparently his school had a freak accident and burned down. Most of his classmates were getting split up between the various schools in the area. Roy and a few others were lucky enough to be accepted into the world renowned Finch Academy. It was a super elite school and the rich and powerful from around the world sent their kids there. They were there as a charity case and Roy had no doubts they'd be looked down upon. "I better work my butt of to keep up to their high standards. At least Max is going with me." Thanks to Roy's wish he had a massive circle of friends. However, Max was still his best friend in the world. They got along great and Roy didn't see a need to ruin that for some dumb popularity contest. Max was still the only person who he could be himself around.
Roy was nervous as he arrived before the gates of his new school. He was wearing a uniform for the first time in his life. With a deep breath he steeled himself and walked in. The school was like nothing Roy had ever experienced. It screamed luxury and prestige. The ugliest students walking around would have been lookers at his old school and Roy felt incredibly out of place. Much to his surprise he found himself able to keep up with the much more rigorous classwork. Some of his new classmates were even impressed. After he found himself making new friends, despite the massive difference in social class, Roy finally realized his wish was still in effect. At first he was thrilled. A school filled with the elite? He would become even more incredible.
When a popular idol group transferred into the school for a few months Roy had been just as excited as his fellows. A chance to talk to women completely out of his world. Their popularity completely eclipsed Roy's growing influence and there was nothing he could do to gain it back. Just when Roy thought he'd fade into the background again something drastic happened. When the magic determined it couldn't fulfill his wish on his current course, the only option left was to change Roy. The magic gave its best, changing Roy overnight while he slept blissfully unaware of what was happening to his body and life.
Roy awoke to a woman's soft voice. Roy's eyes fluttered open and he turned to face the voice, but instead of his mother it was a woman in a maid uniform. [Jane] the name flew into his mind unbidden. Her eyebrows creased and she put her hands on her hips, "Miss Evelyn, it's time to get up. I've been calling you for 5 minutes." Roy felt more comfortable than he had ever felt before. He shifted around and something felt off.
"I'm up," Roy moaned from underneath the covers. After hearing his own voice the incongruity finally caught up with Roy and he sat up abruptly his hands roaming his body. Before he could go any further Jane called out,
"Is everything alright Miss Evelyn?" She looked concerned and Roy didn't want to alarm her so he nodded dumbly.
"Uh, bathroom. I got to go." He crawled out of the king sized bed and made his way across the massive bedroom. He moved instinctively to where he somehow knew the attached bathroom was. "What the fuck?" Roy breathed as he leaned against the closed door. Even the bathroom was bigger than his old bedroom. He glided over to the mirror and his mouth dropped open. In front of Roy was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. There was only one problem: that girl was him. Roy carefully stripped out of her silk pajamas to get a better look. An angelic countenance and impressive curves that were rapidly developing, taking after her mother. She had to buy new bras almost every month and she wasn't even close to her mother's colossal chest yet. She had a pair of incredible legs. Smooth and sexy, developed over years of dance classes. She had complained about shaving her legs one day and her daddy quickly scheduled a laser hair removal session so his little princess didn't have to suffer. Her mother had advised her to get everything else taken care of at the same time so she was smooth everywhere. She prodded her thighs. They were just the right size, impressive while still giving of the graceful air the rest of her body had. Her bubble butt was a work of art. With her child-bearing hips it formed a perfect heart shape and swayed when she walked, easily drawing the eyes of anyone nearby. She got closer to the mirror and started tracing the outlines of her features, admiring her flawless skin. Her long black hair was like silk. It took a lot of work to keep it that way and it was something she took great pride in. The girl in the mirror should've been a stranger, but she was intimately familiar. "Maybe that's why I don't feel embarrassed or attracted to this body. It's just me." She was adjusting strangely quickly to waking up in a strange house. In a completely different body and gender no less. However it all felt strangely normal. A quick knock on the door shook her out of her reverie.
"Miss Evelyn, I've left your change of clothes on the stool. Your mother and father are waiting downstairs for breakfast."
"Ok, thank you Jane. I'll be right down!" She quickly changed and joined her parents, who had gone similar upgrades to her, for breakfast.
Over the next few weeks she slowly got used to her new life as Evelyn Walton, heiress to the largest conglomerate in the world. She lived in a small mansion her parents had purchased for her just so she didn't have to live in the dorms on campus and they regularly came to visit her despite their busy schedules. It amused her to discover that she had a large room that was just storage for all the awards she received: dance, mathematics, science, art, music, poetry. You name a subject and she'd won several top awards for it. She had gotten her wish at excelling at everything, but no longer found it important to her. Instead she would much rather focus on the things she loved like piano. Both her new self and Roy had always loved Piano, but now that she had the skill to pursue it to the peak she was more than happy to. Most people were intimidated by her. Either by her looks, status, intelligence or family. It made it difficult to have true friends. That's what made her so thankful for Max.
He was one of the few people to treat her like a normal girl. Every time she thought about him she felt a bit happy inside. Whenever she saw him he seemed more and more handsome, almost like magic. Evelyn hadn't realized that she had developed a crush on him until several of her girl friends had gently teased her during a sleepover. After a very embarrassing confession Max had admitted that he always like her too, which had been apparent to everyone but her. In her defense, she still remembered him from a time when they were in very different positions.
Years later when she was moving into college with her boyfriend she caught sight of a coin lying on the ground. She thought back to her vague wish and how it had changed much more than she had intended. She was happy this way and even if she could go back, she wouldn't. She was Evelyn Walton now and she had a life to live.
